Yoga - Not Just Fitness

Over The past few decades, a very common offender has taken root in the heads of individuals. A belief is that Yoga, is all about fitness and exercise. An additional offender is that Yogasanas (or Asanas) are simply body movements and poses that are complicated to perform but make the body supple.

Yes, postures or asana do make the body hydrated. Just Like extending and other types of body movements do. However, yogasanas and Yoga are so much more than simply fitness tricks.

From the West, So that they too can benefit from it Yoga was introduced by Indians to the people. It was a success as expected. However there started a commercialization of yoga, so as to make it more attractive to the public. Yoga went from having an art.
That is to Understand, is dangerous. Yoga is not something which should be performed with the wrong ideas or intentions. It has impacts of its own.

Yoga is a method of life. It is not a ritual to be performed, It's a habit that one makes a portion of life. The ultimate goal of Yoga is to attain liberation or Moksha. But yoga has a massive influence on our lives.

Five basic principles of Yoga

• Pranayama (Breathing control)

• Shavasana (Relaxation)
• Sattvic (Right Diet)

• Dhyana (Meditation)

It Is only when these 5 basic principles are followed closely you can call himself a practitioner of Yoga. He becomes one with the universal energy and surrenders himself to the universe when a person performs yoga. It is a source of life and should not be treated.

Let us now look at some facets of yoga.

Faculties of Yoga
In Hinduism, there are the following kinds. Please note, here Yoga doesn't speak about bearings. Yoga is in fact a practice. It is a way of life, as I mentioned earlier. These schools of yoga were consequently, part of lifestyle.

1. Jnana Yoga
Jnana Means'understanding' in Sanskrit. From the ancient times, when there was a method of'Gurukul' (pupils stayed with teachers and obtained knowledge), this was the initiation of this pupil into education and the realm of knowledge. Information was comprised by the teachings about everything. This Jnana yoga became the foundation for knowledge and understanding.
2. Bhakti Yoga
Bhakti Or dedication, is a vital feature of yoga. You expressed love and devotion towards God. This God is the Supreme Being. It doesn't refer to some emblematic God energy that is universal. The thought was to move the yogi.
3. Karma Yoga
Karma Means Duty in Sanskrit. Of the highest importance, the importance of performing ones obligation or Karma, was in the Hindu religion. Activities and all responsibilities had to be achieved with fantastic reverence. It is supposedly the method to advancement in life.
4. Laya Yoga or Kundalini Yoga
It Is the form of yoga performed by way of regular practice of yoga asana and meditation, pranayama, chanting mantra. It is called the yoga of stirring. One becomes aware of oneself and aware of the surrounding. It focuses on compassion to others and recovery of mind, the body and soul.
5. Hatha Yoga
It is a system of Techniques supplementary to a conception of yoga. A belief is that Lord Shiva himself was the founder of Hatha Yoga.
This School of yoga is what deals with bodily exercise and asana or postures. Hatha yoga is known on earth as a physical exercise.
Benefits of Yoga
Yoga Has physical advantages, is something which is common understanding. But of yoga is observed on the other and psychological features of human life.
